Back from R&R

Postby Lesser Spot Finder » Thu Jan 21, 2010 3:07 pm

Arrived back from R&R this morning following two wonderful weeks back in a snowy Blighty. I had some cracking birding whilst I was back home with 105 species in two weeks; 85 in Surrey and 66 in Cornwall.

Travelled back via Kandahar with little seen in the few hours I was sat awaiting for the RAF to fix the C130 back to Bastion. I now have three species on my Afghan year list with House Crow, Common Myna and Palm Dove making an appearance. I had hoped to spend a little more time in Kandahar so that I could have wandered down to the sewage works to see what was about.

Migration beckons and I hope to fill this blog with a few more sightings in the next few weeks.
