I didn't run this afternoon; t was too hot so I decided to pop down to Runway's End Marsh for a quick look-see. The male Turkestan Shrikes have arrived after a passage of 1st winters and females early in March. I managed a couple of good photos which I hope to post in the gallery. A Green Sandpiper was flushed and Pied Bushchats were prolific, singing and holding territory.
Warblers were represented by Hume's Whitethroat and Siberian Chiffchaff and two species of Sparrow were present - Tree and House. A Citrine Wagtail was flushed in the margins of the grey water. All in all a quiet visit but with some good birds
An afternoon foray
