No Christmas Cheer

Postby Lesser Spot Finder » Mon Dec 28, 2009 8:05 am

As a type the only addition to December's Bastion Avi-fauna has been the one Palm (Mourning) Dove which has just flown over the JOC and spurred me to add something to the blog.

Again it has been a disappointing week birding wise. Christmas passed with little incident and even less workload and I have attempted to find birds in both Bastion 1 and 2. There are still birds around with both Crested Lark and Tree Sparrows within Bastion. The Tree Sparrows are currently the most numerous with around 4 large flocks. Crested Larks appear on and off, generally during runs my runs around camp and are found around standing water following last week's rain.

I now look forward to R&R but intend to bird whilst on the stop-over in Kandahar next week. I hope to find something different whilst there.
