iPHONE DIGISCOPE ADAPTER

Postby Wandering Tattler » Tue Feb 05, 2013 4:08 pm

Has anyone tried any of the iPhone digiscope adapters?

The only have found is priced at £49, which seems expensive for a small piece of plastic.

The word "digiscoping" is industry code for "ridiculously overpriced widget".

Sounds quite reasonable to me compared to £700 for an iPhone. Bet the comms aren't good though.

I recently tried one at CleySpy which was meant to fit a Swarovski lens - it didn't. CleySpy tried their best to adapt and eventually gave up. Twitter comments and posted photos do come across as favourable with some particularly good photos.

DIGISCOPE PHONE ADAPTERS

Postby Wandering Tattler » Tue Apr 01, 2014 9:17 pm

I eventually bought a Kowa iPhone adapter that fits a Swarovski scope well but is an iPhone 4S adapter, so I have kept my 4S for photography (plus the field guide apps). At £60 for the adapter it is too expensive to upgrade if you change your phone every two years. There are adapters that can be adjusted to to accommodate any model but these were realised after I bought my adapter.
