One Merlin over Bastion 2 at 1630hrs today. This was a welcome addition to the avi-fauna of the camp.

What a prime wintering spot afghanistan seems to be from your reports. I would have thought it would be fairly lifeless just from watching TV news. I just wish my wintering merlin sightings were as warm & sunny but thankfully slightly safer!

Good birding & keep your head down on topcover

Andy,

I wish it was warm and sunny. Currently raining with temperatures down to 1 degree. It has its benefits - no dust around at the moment.

See you in 2010.

Rich
