We do not advertise as a rule but having made this contact last weekend, it seems a shame not to pass it on. No financial inducements or gain involved! The place is owned by Peter and Kate Fisher who say:

We are in a large bungalow in the village of Clarencefield, on the Solway Coast, 10 miles from Dumfries and 7 from Annan. Caerlaverock WWT is 7 miles away, and RSPB Mersehead is 25 miles away. Our bungalow is surrounded by farmland, with hedgerow boundaries. We get a variety of birds here including sparrow hawk, woodpeckers, nuthatch, tits etc. and we have occasional visits from red squirrels and badgers. We have 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin), with shared shower and 2 toilets (we have our own), lounge and dining room. Our drying room is available for wet clothes/footwear, and washing can be done by arrangement. Packed lunches can be provided and pub grub is a short walk away. Woodland and Solway walks from our doorstep. We are proposing to charge £20 per head per night, which includes tea/coffee in lounge on arrival, and tea with home baking at night. If you want to know anything else, don’t hesitate to phone (01387-870692).

Grateful for any feedback.
