Great to see a drake Ring-necked Duck on the main lake at the Defence School of Transport's training area this afternoon. The bird has been around East Yorkshire for a week or so, visiting Tophill Low Nature Reserve and Pulfin Bog/High Eske Nature Reserve. It is thought to be the first record for the site and follows hot on the heals of Eurasian White fronted and Pink-footed Geese earlier this month.

The drake returned to Normandy Barracks, Leconfield today. I have seen in recent days at another site close to the camp too.
