Birding and the Battlefield

Postby Lesser Spot Finder » Fri Feb 08, 2008 9:10 pm

BBC Radio 4 are commissioning a programme entitled Birding and the Battlefield which will look at the relationship between soldiers in action and the birds they have watched/heard. I am in contact with the lady producing the programme and have also mentioned a couple of names who I think might fulfill the criteria of someone who has watched birds whilst on Ops. She is interested in my experiences whilst sunning it in Helmand and I am sure will be interested in other stories. Please let me know if you have 'operational birding' experience and I will pass on your details. We will apply the stringent MOD security caveats and inform the relevant agencies beforehand. The RAF are involved with stories of birds seen in our hotel in the UAE.

This, I believe, is an excellent opportunity for us to show case the AOS and spread the word. Watch this space for more details.
