Ringing at Tice's Meadow 2019

Official Ringing Days (not including opportunist ringing). The intent is for more regular visits for improved year-on-year comparisons.

Ringing will be conducted at Tice's Meadow on the following dates:

January 16th and 17th. Nets set up around the feeding station to target Siskins and Redpolls. Ringing station from back of car on the track. Accommodated with Rich Horton. Test run duck traps.

March 26th and 27th. Scrub and Reedbeds. Early warblers, residents, nest boxes, duck traps. Barn Owl checks. Remain with nets overnight.

April. Various controlled visits to monitor use of nest boxes and to ring brooding adults.

May 2nd - 5th. Bioblitz preparation and weekend. All day ringing for 2 days before public involvement. Nest boxes less owl boxes.

July 17th and 18th. Afternoon and morning ringing juveniles.

September 12th - 14th. Autumn migrants and swallow roosts.

November tbd. Clean and maintain nest boxes and consider plans for 2020.
