Rain.....................again

Postby Lesser Spot Finder » Thu Jun 16, 2011 11:27 pm

It's been raining most of the day but I put waterproofs on and trudged into Ralston just on the off chance. Little to report really - Loggerhead Shrike at the entrance of the camp and Willet half way on one of the sloughs. There was another Merlin over Ralston but still no sign of House or Purple Finch. I got soaked.

Having spoken to Tim and looked at the options for birding over a three day period I am off to Cold Lake at the end of next week. It will mean that I will be unable to bag Clark's Nutcracker at Lake Louise but the thought of all those extra New World Warblers on my list has tempted me North Eastwards.

Postscript. I'll also be passing through the town of Consort - home of KD Lang. I feel a song coming on!
