Happy New Year

This is extreme birding from the far north. Good luck and keep the sightings coming.

Happy New Year

Postby roger dickey » Thu Jan 08, 2009 10:11 pm

Relaying via Bluey (after move from e-mail facility).

From Chris:

Happy New Year to all in the AOS.

Now with 1 Rifles and mentoring the ANA. Have moved to the desert and at higher altitude so few trees or other vegitation. Bird life is sparce! On patrols, large numbers of flocking Mynas (15-20) and Mourning Doves ever present . Not too cold yet but lack of water = lack of birds.

Gilbert the Afghan Turkey (new species?) donated by village elder, appreciated by this happy band, accompanied by Spam wrapped chipolatas to a background melody of 105mm. Perfect Gunner Christmas!
