Fighting for Conservation
I am in the process of putting together a 60 minute talk/presentation on the work of the AOS over the recent years. Not surprisingly it will have my own spin on it from my tours - operational and non-op but will naturally include others'. I intend covering birds from the following places (list not e...

A good article. The reference to 300 members is amusing as three out of the five active ones were in the photo! They had good coverage from Chris Patrick's owl at sea story as well.

Ignoring the pop at ringers who exist on this earth thankfully to prevent the lister stringers getting too carried away, interested to know how you have differentiated palustris, scirpaceus and fuscus in the field. Eye ring, bill and whiter primary tips in that order? In the hand is one thing but I ...

Good work Richard. We have to fight for acknowledgement everywhere now. A worth cause though for this book.

Sounds like a very good trip. If you have a full trip report we can get it on the Expeditions report page which is looking bare and needs this kind of input. Always helpful to know the good sites, guides and accn.
Thanks.
Geoffrey,
Cuban Green? One already on your list of Woodpeckers?

NEARCTIC SPECIES
So the rumours are true! I can still be found rummaging around in exactly the same habitat. The earlier comment on Monxton black holes is under-emphasised. Two early ticks for acclimatising Nearctics are Black Swan and Hawk for which I have acted as guide on many occasions. I'll follow the web site ...

Just checked the Constitution and it says nothing about Media Lovies. Nice hair Bob and Andrew still hasn't got a pigtail.
Safe to go and see my Black Redstart 2 doors away then.

At this rate we are going to have to produce our own bird guides to popular excercise venues!
Many thanks for the comprehensive report - some great birds there. Any photos?

Bed, Breakfast and Birds on the Solway Coast
We do not advertise as a rule but having made this contact last weekend, it seems a shame not to pass it on. No financial inducements or gain involved! The place is owned by Peter and Kate Fisher who say: We are in a large bungalow in the village of Clarencefield, on the Solway Coast, 10 miles from ...
